End customers are not willing to pay large sums of money over the Internet because they still consider the risks to be too great. Although micro payment, i.e. the payment of small amounts, for Web content is largely accepted among consumers, there has up to now been a lack of reliable and easy-to-use payment mechanisms. Credit cards, bank accounts and cash are simply not suitable for paying small amounts.

MOBILEtechnics has now developed a micro payment solution based on SMS Premium numbers. Using this solution, small amounts can be charged by SMS, thus enabling consumers to pay in a quick and easy way. They only obtain access to content after the amount has been debited to them via their phone bill or prepaid card.
